Ledbury & Weston’s Cider Tour and Taste

Big enough to be bustling and vibrant, but small enough to keep a strong sense of community, Ledbury is a market town with a unique feel. At the centre of Ledbury is the finest example in England of a Black and White  Grade 1 listed building. The building was designed by the King’s Carpenter John Abel. The building work on the Market Hall started in 1617 and took around 50 years to complete and still hosts markets on a Tuesdays.

Westons have been makers of fine ciders since 1880. Westons are independent & family owned, located on the same Herefordshire hills that the family farmed over 135 years ago. Five generations later and they now export to over 40 countries worldwide!

Westons create award winning brands such as Stowford Press, Old Rosie & Henry Westons. New innovations include Rosie’s Pig, Mortimer’s Orchard & Caple Rd.  Discover more about the history, the brands & the craft of cider making with one of the expert guides & finish with a tutored tasting session.

You will explore the UK’s largest cider collection of oak vats. Discover the craft of cider-making from blossom to bottle. You will be shown where they harvest, weigh & wash apples. Venture into the heart of the mill where they press, ferment & mature before blending & packing. You’ll learn what Westons do, why & how and hear a little bit of home-spun history too.

At the end of the tour be sure not to miss the shop. You can chat to the team, taste and try something exciting and new. Ask the experts to recommend the perfect cider for your taste.
